Capital plan let down by proposed budget

The New York State Department of Transportation five-year capital program will receive $7 billion – not the $25.8 billion it sought – under Governor David Paterson’s proposed Fiscal Year 2011 budget. While the proposed figure is in keeping with previous years, it comes as a disappointment to the agency whose director has repeatedly advocated the rehabilitation and expansion of the state’s transportation infrastructure.

Also, the Utica Observer-Dispatch has a terrific piece on the governor’s proposed $25 million small business revolving loan fund, which will promote small, minority, and women-owned companies growth. Take a look at the article here.
